What the developer says
“Real-time arena battles in pixel art. Two years in the making, and free to play.”
It is a free fan game made by Big Kid Nation, the indie developer behind a 17-year Fabled Apps history. The developer says it was built by a fan who wanted to see how battles should feel, and calls it the first game it is showing the world. The public beta opens to everyone in December 2026; people on the developer's list hear first. There is no public build, paid access or official APK at this check date.
Big Kid Nation also lets confirmed list members vote for who should be in the game. Each round's Champion is confirmed for the public beta. It does not mean the final launch roster is complete.

The most common question
Don't confuse a released Empress Android build or a third-party browser game with Big Kid Nation's unreleased project. Compare developers, platforms and original sources side by side.
Official warning
In Big Kid Nation's own words: “If anyone asks you to pay, log in or download something to play Pokémon Arena 2D, it isn’t us.” This guide does not host an installer, APK, ROM or game file. Some search results call it a ROM hack or offer an APK; those pages are not the developer's. Use the official download status page and the developer's own channels.
